Cluster Detection in Point Event Data having Tendency Towards Spatially Repetitive Events

چکیده

The analysis of point event patterns in geography, ecology and epidemiology have a long tradition (e.g. Snow, 1855; Clark & Evans, 1954; Harvey, 1966; Mantel, 1967; Cliff & Ord, 1981). The patterns detected are usually broadly classified as random, uniform or clustered. Whilst spatial randomness has traditionally been assumed to have no underlying process of interest, Phillips (1999) has pointed out that such apparent randomness may be attributable to chaotic deterministic patterns. For spatial uniformity a space-filling, mutual exclusion process can be hypothesised. Nevertheless, it is clustered patterns that raise the strongest interest and hypotheses for underlying processes. Thus cluster detection lies at the heart of spatial data mining (Murray & Estivill-Castro, 1998; Openshaw, 1998; Murray, 2000; Miller & Han, 2001).

Detecting Clusters in Spatially Repetitive Point Event Data Sets

The analysis of point event patterns has a long tradition. Of particular interest are patterns of clustering or ‘hot spots’ and such cluster detection lies at the heart of spatial data mining. Certain classes of point event patterns have a significant proportion of the data having a tendency towards exact spatial repetitiveness. Examples are crime and traffic accidents. Spatial superimposition ...

Unauthenticated event detection in wireless sensor networks using sensors co-coverage

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) offer inherent packet redundancy since each point within the network area is covered by more than one sensor node. This phenomenon, which is known as sensors co-coverage, is used in this paper to detect unauthenticated events. Unauthenticated event broadcasting in a WSN imposes network congestion, worsens the packet loss rate, and increases the network energy con...

Internet Control Plane Event Identification using Model Based Change Point Detection Techniques

In the raise of many global organizations deploying their data centers and content services in India, the prefix reachability performance study from global destinations garners our attention. The events such as link/node failures and DDoS attacks occurring in the Internet topology have impact on Autonomous System (AS) paths announced in the control plane and reachability of prefixes from spatia...

Audio Event Change Detection and Clustering in Movies

This paper proposed a method of audio event chage detection and clustering in movies. Three steps criterion method is used to detect audio event change in movies ,non silece segment is gotton from audio events by using energy firstly, potential audio event change point is gotton by calculating the distance of two sliding windows secondly , penalty distance is used to judge whether a potential a...

Proximity Clustering for Revealing a Semantically Dominant Class

We propose the proximity clustering (PxC) algorithm, which finds the spatially diverse but semantically similar data-point colonies in the form of a dominant class cluster. It searches through different proximity metric spaces for revealing the hidden porous data pattern. For each data-point, it provides the degree of belongingness to a dominant cluster and thereby performing the soft clusterin...
